Welcome to Nirvana Therapy

Nirvana Therapy was created as a space where people can slow down and feel supported. The word Nirvana refers to liberation, a release from suffering and the patterns that keep us feeling stuck. In this context, it does not imply the absence of pain or difficulty, but the possibility of relating to our experiences with greater awareness and freedom.

This practice was shaped around that idea: not forcing change, but creating space for understanding to emerge. Therapy can be helpful during many moments in life whether you're dealing with stress, emotional exhaustion, relationship struggles, grief, past experiences that still linger, or simply a feeling that something isn’t quite right. You don’t need to arrive with clear answers. Therapy here begins with listening and unfolds gently, guided by what feels most relevant to you.

At Nirvana Therapy, sessions are collaborative, gentle, and grounded. Together, we explore your thoughts, emotions, and patterns at a pace that feels safe and manageable. The goal isn’t to “fix” you, but to help you understand yourself with greater clarity and self-compassion.

If you’re looking for a space to pause, reflect, and gradually find more freedom in how you relate to yourself and your life, Nirvana Therapy is here to support you. Let’s talk, explore, and make space for the life you deserve

Meet the Founder

Hey, I am Shreya!

Counselling Psychologist

MSc in Psychology (Clinical), PGD Counselling Psychology

My journey into therapy was shaped by something I've often been called- “sensitive”. What once felt like something I needed to hide has become one of my greatest strengths. Feeling deeply allows me to understand people beyond their words, notice what remains unspoken, and hold space for emotions with care and compassion.

In our sessions, I work with you, not on you. Together, we create a space that feels safe, reflective, and deeply human where you can explore your emotions, understand your experiences, and move toward healing and growth.

My approach to therapy is rooted in empathy, curiosity, and emotional attunement. I draw from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and trauma-informed practices, adapting my work to each person’s unique needs and pace.

With two years of counselling experience and a strong passion for breaking the stigma around mental health, At Nirvana Therapy, our goal is to help you feel lighter, more in control and connected to yourself.

Founder - Nirvana Therapy

I believe therapy isn't just about fixing problems, it's about feeling seen, heard, and understood. At its core, therapy is a space where you can slow down, make sense of your experiences, and feel less alone in what you’re carrying.

Why Choose Nirvana Therapy

Trust & Emotional Safety

Choosing a therapist requires trust and a sense of safety. Nirvana Therapy offers a calm, non-judgmental space where you can slow down, speak openly, and explore your experiences without feeling rushed or dismissed.

Careful listening and clear professional boundaries create consistency and emotional safety throughout the process.

Evidence-Based Practice

The work is grounded in evidence-based therapeutic practice and guided by a thoughtfully structured approach.

Sessions focus not only on present challenges but also on the patterns influencing how you think, feel, and respond across different areas of life, helping develop deeper understanding and clarity.

Insight & Practical Tools

Clients often value the balance of reflection, insight, and practical tools offered in therapy.

The approach remains professional, ethical, and human, focusing on developing self-awareness, emotional strength, and the ability to make choices that feel right for you rather than being told what to do.

to Frequently Asked Questions

Therapy is a conversation, but not a casual one. Sessions involve exploring your thoughts, emotions, patterns, and experiences in a structured yet flexible way. Sometimes this looks like reflection and insight-building; at other times it may involve learning tools, skills, or new ways of responding to situations. The process is guided, collaborative, and shaped around what you bring.

You don’t always need a diagnosis, a crisis, or a clear reason to consider therapy. Many people reach out when they notice they’re feeling stuck in the same patterns, carrying emotions that don’t seem to settle, or feeling more drained than usual by everyday life. Sometimes it shows up as overthinking, irritability, emotional numbness, or a sense of disconnect from yourself or others. Often, it’s simply an inner nudge that something needs attention. Therapy can be a space to explore that gently, before things feel overwhelming.

Yes. Confidentiality is a core part of therapy. What you share remains private, except in rare situations where there is a risk of serious harm to you or others, or when disclosure is required by law. These limits are discussed transparently.

Yes. Sessions are offered both online and in person (Kolkata). Online therapy provides flexibility and accessibility, while in-person sessions offer a quiet, private space for those who prefer meeting face-to-face.

Each session is about 50- 60 minutes long. The frequency of sessions is decided collaboratively, based on your needs and preferences.

There is no fixed timeline. Some people come in for short-term support around a specific concern, while others choose to stay longer for deeper exploration. Therapy progresses at a pace that feels right for you.

Yes. You’re welcome to reach out with basic questions about therapy, availability, or the process before booking a session. This helps you decide whether therapy feels like the right step for you.

We believe therapy should be accessible to everyone. Fees are discussed during the first point of contact so we can understand your needs and offer an appropriate sliding-scale option where possible.
